What is a gal to do when her new addiction is a TV show about addiction? Have you seen “Intervention” on A&E? Here is a show synopsis directly from the website:
Intervention™ is a powerful and gripping television series in which people confront their darkest demons and seek a route to redemption. The Intervention Television series profiles people whose dependence on drugs and alcohol or other compulsive behavior has brought them to a point of personal crisis and estranged them from their friends and loved ones. Each Intervention episode ends with a surprise intervention that is staged by the family and friends of the alcohol or drug addict, and which is conducted by one of four Intervention specialists.
I accidentally stumbled upon the show a few months ago while I was playing around with our new cable. We upgraded so we could get “Lifetime Movie Network” and “Turner Classic Movies.” Anyway, when you click on the “Guide” button on the remote, one of the choices you are given is “Cable Favorites.” You then click on that and you can re-view various TV shows. “Intervention” is one of them. The words powerful and gripping describe it perfectly. I would also add the word raw.
