The $6 Million Birds: “We Can Rebuild, We Have the Technology”

I have been contemplating whether or not I should remove the birds’ nest. I have been thinking that maybe the birds don’t want to use it anymore. Who can blame them? They have had so many babies in there that to return to it would be like sleeping in a bed that has been unmade and unslept in for months. When I glanced up at the nest today I immediately noticed a sign that the birds left me telling me NOT to touch their nest:

Notice the leaves? For the first time in all these years, the birds are using greenery in their home. I am soooo flattered that they love their little nesting spot so much that they would rather rebuild it than abandon it for a new one.

Analogy for the day: even birds use greenery so they don’t have to move. (See post below titled “Hide the Clutter”)

To move or not to move has been the question for the past several years. Yes, we could totally use an extra bedroom aka craft room. My desk is constantly cluttered with projects, which like I’ve mentioned before, sometimes expand onto the floor.

I was pondering some type of room divider screen-type thing. After a few hours of thinking and Googling, the following idea popped into my head. The best part is that I found the tall grass stuff at Pier I for 50% off (the first place I looked) and I found the baskets at Michael’s for 40% off (the second place I looked.) Within a matter of two hours my desk went from junkyard to hidden treasure.

The best part is, now we don’t have to move! (It was much cheaper this way, Neil, I promise!)

I have realized that the older my girls get, the more they need me. It was almost impossible to take off a weekend from being a mom to visit Sharon and Jed in Houston. Finally, the perfect weekend arrived! A four-day weekend combined with no homework after finals week provided a perfect time to take a nice little break. So while Neil and the girls enjoyed some time in Disney, I recharged in Houston with lots of laughs and a wonderful time! Thanks again Sharon and Jed! These are for you:
