We hurried back from Adrienne’s Mother’s Day college graduation in North Carolina because less than a week later, Erica graduated from high school. (This wasn’t the original plan. Adrienne wasn’t supposed to graduate college until 2015. However, because of THIS, she was able to shave off her last year and graduate early.)
The graduation ceremony was spectacular. Broadway show spectacular. Both girls attended an arts high school, so the talent was stellar. When the vocal teacher sang “Over the Rainbow,” I lost it. Ugly cry lost it. I remembered back to when I made her a Dorothy costume when she was three years old. She also loved, loved, loved to read the original story of The Wizard of Oz by L. Frank Baum when she was little. She checked it out of the library so often that we ended up just buying her a copy.
The next evening we had a fun family party at a great Italian restaurant, Carmine’s Coal Fired Pizza. I highly recommend it if you are looking for a great place to host a party of about 30 people.
Miss Erica received two scholarships, in part because of her strong academics, and in part because of her charity, Cosmetics for a Cause. She hopes to one day grow the charity into an international organization. You can find out more by visiting the website HERE.

(As the mom, I am so happy to be done with school and schedules and homework and making lunches. I feel like I have been holding my breath under water for the last umpteen years and now I can finally come up for air.)
