Have you ever seen this movie with Burt Lancaster and Shirley Booth? Shirley Booth won the Academy Award for her performance as a pathetic housewife. In addition to all her marital woes, she continuously calls for her lost dog from her front porch. When the movie begins, the dog has already been missing for a year.
I can’t see myself ever again going out my front door and NOT calling for Serena to come home. I will never give up hope!
We have done all we can…we told all of our neighbors, posted signs, checked the local animal shelters, and prayed.
Serena’s disappearance reminds me of another cat I once had…Ashley. One time in NJ she went missing during a blizzard. As soon as it stopped snowing I searched and searched for her all over the place! It turns out that she was in our next door neighbor’s tool shed, just a few yards from our back door.
When we moved to Florida Ashley was trapped in a cat trap by a mean neighbor who did not like animals. When animal care and control was transferring her from their truck to the kennel, she escaped. She was found by someone who lived in a nearby neighborhood. They were getting ready to take her home to NY with them. Luckily they saw our sign posted and called us. Ashley really did have nine lives. Let’s hope Serena has nine lives, too.
Hope Serena comes back home soon.
Take care!

I am so sorry Serena is missing. Being a cat lover myself, I wouldn’t know what to do if my kitty disappeared. Don’t give up hope!
