That’s Life (and Love)

Not much going on. On Saturday I walked into the laundry room and said, “Neil, the floor is flooded.” The washing machine broke and flooded the room. Things like this are so routine after 21 years of marriage. We grabbed a bunch of beach towels, cleaned up the mess, concluded it would be cheaper to just buy a new washer than to repair it, and Neil went and picked out a new washer that afternoon. I didn’t even have to go. After 21 years, he knows what kind of washer I like. That is true love.

I started a new blog just for my birds. Click on the link on the right titled “The Bird Diaries: Dove Life Personified” and let me know what you think. (You can find it under “Blogs I Like,” just above the world map.) Make sure you read the side bar to see how it all came about. Sometimes life is just too bizarre .

Sunbeam Teacher!!!

Today’s lesson was “I am Thankful for Birds and Insects.” We made bugs and bug jars out of paper. We also went on a nature walk to look for birds and insects. It doesn’t get any better than this!!

Okay, yes, I’ll admit it. When we were picking out baby names I wondered how our as-of-then unborn baby’s name would sound when she was sworn in as president of the USA. (You look me in the eye and tell me you didn’t do the same thing!!!!!!!!!! I puked my guts out every day for nine months...I was more than entitled to dream big, okay??!!!!!! So lay off and stop laughing!!!) Anyway, now, almost sixteen years later, she has finally thrown her hat in the political ring…
