  • Today (well, it’s after midnight, so maybe I should say yesterday?) is our 23rd anniversary
  • Erica was accepted into Dreyfoos
  • I found out I have chronic, dangerously low blood pressure (how does 60/40 sound?)  Yup, I had a stress test and the tech was in disbelief when she took it.
  • I’m on medicine for the above.  It actually went to 104/something a couple of times.  Yippee!
  • Here are some prom photos (Heather, these are for you!)

Fun and Easy Paper Clip Toppers

Comments Off on Fun and Easy Paper Clip Toppers

It’s summer!  Are your kids bored yet?  If so,

they can use chipboard pieces in different shapes to make cute toppers for paper clips.

Here’s what you do:

1)  cover the chipboard pieces in decorative paper  (make matching pairs)

2)  file the edges

3)  glue a paper clip to the backside of one chipboard piece

4)  glue the matching chipboard piece to the top of the paperclip so that the paper clip is sandwiched in-between the two chipboard pieces

5)  allow time to dry

You can use any size chipboard and any size paper clip.  I made a bunch of large and small paper clip toppers, put them in cellos bags, tied the bags with cute ribbon, and gave them as little gifts.

This is a great little item that the kids can sell at their lemonade stand!

Another Post About Big Cards

I think I’m only going to make

big cards.  I showed this card on my blog once before, but here it is again.

This time I made it a little more youthful and fun.  It’s a Bat Mitzpah card.  It fits into a 6 x 9 envelope.  Certainly a black-tie Bat Mitzpah calls for a card that is larger than the standard handmade card that is usually 4 1/4″ x 5 1/2″, right?

I’m going to make a bunch of these for different occasions and keep them on-hand.

Blog posts swirling in my head:

Paper Flower Preview

These flowers are so easy and fun to make!  You get to use up lots of scraps, and better yet, you can make them with your kids.

I’ll post the tutorial on Saturday.  But for now, here are some of the things you can make with them:

A bracelet:

Turn it over and attach a sticky-back pin (just in time for Easter):
