Settling In…

* the girls seem to have adjusted very easily to a new school year. I had a feeling it wouldn’t be too terribly difficult since they are both at the same schools they were at last year. Next year may be a different story altogether, though, with Erica going off to high school. In the meantime, I will appreciate the peace while I have it and not worry about next year until it gets here.

* I seem NOT to have adjusted very easily to a new school year as I have spent the last four days fighting off the flu.

* I am starting to finally fall into a nice work schedule now that eWillow.com is starting to develop and take on a life of its own more and more each day. Tonight and tomorrow I will be completely re-doing our back room and re-organizing it to make it more office-like and user-friendly for me. I am really opposed to renting outside office space because I can’t stand the thought of not having all of my “stuff” near me all the time!!!! I want to be able to grab my circle punch whenever I need it, darn it!!!! So, if and when we have company over, they will just have to accept the fact that our home isn’t a palace…it is a place where we live and where I work. Sometimes it will be neat and tidy, and other times, well…too bad. 🙂 If you want to see us, you are welcome to drop in at any time. If you want to see our home, you will have to make an appointment and maybe I’ll tidy it up before you get here!!!!! 🙂

* As I type this I am wondering why in the world anyone would be remotely interested in reading this information. I know that writing it has made me feel much better…I feel like I have made a very important public service announcement and now the pressure to have a tidy house 24/7 is completely lifted from my shoulders.

Really Fun Bookmark DIY Tutorial

I came up with this design a few years ago for a swap.  It took me ALL DAY to figure out the correct dimensions.  I wanted to be able to make two bookmarks from one piece of 8-1/2″ x 11″ cardstock.  It made my brain hurt trying to figure it all out, but I am happy with the results!

Here is a little monkey peeking out at you!!!

Bookmark Case:

*Cut a piece of cardstock 4-1/4” x 7-3/4”

*Draw a pencil line at 1-1/16” (use the outside left edge of the ruler on the paper cutter as a straight-edge guide)

*Score at 2”

*Draw a pencil line at 2-7/16” (once again, use the outside left edge of the ruler on the paper cutter as a straight-edge guide)

*Score at 4”

*Punch two 1-3/8” circles (the width of the punch apart) inside the pencil lines

*Fold on score lines/  *Adhere with sticky strip

Bookmark *Cut a piece of cardstock 1-7/8” x 8-1/2”  (or longer, depending on how long you want the inside piece to be)
