Date Your Photos

The only thing I love more than the colors on this scrapbook page is the adorable little girl in the photo!!!!  I love how Erica’s freckles “pop” when she is in the sun; that’s why I named this page “Freckles.”

Not only does this page remind me of our little freckle girl, but it also reminds me of why it is so important to date my photos…I didn’t date this one, so now I have to go back and look through piles of photos to try to figure out when this picture was taken.  Shame on me!!!!

P.S.  This scrapbook layout would also look great framed in a shadow box.

Life …

Not much has been going on, yet at the same time it seems like there is no time to do anything! Let’s see, what’s new?

I got my hair cut today, short, over my ears.

The girls have been busy getting ready for church camp next week.

I really need to go back to NYC and order a Strawberry Fields dessert at Serendipity. I am craving it! I was also craving Dunkin’ Donuts the other night…out of nowhere.

My baby is leaving me next weekend for three whole weeks!

I signed up for Twitter tonight. Three guesses as to whom I am “following” on there.

Last night we had our annual summer tradition of seeing how late we can stay up. I forced myself to go to bed at 2:30 am, although I could have stayed up longer. Erica made it until 4 am, and Adrienne and her friend Sophia stayed up until 5 am. Of course it helped that we decided at 11:30 pm to go to Wal-Mart to get some odds and ends for camp.

Such an exciting life, huh?

A Fun Summer Project to do with Your Kids

You and your kids can put your lazy summer days to good use by working on this fun project!  It’s easy, fun, and useful!

Just take an inexpensive composition notebook, some decorative paper, some embellishments, and a dash of creative juice and see what you come up with!

I used Mod Podge to adhere the paper to the notebook.  I also used drywall tape (yes, drywall tape!) to add some flair to the binding.  This project is a great way to put your old scraps of paper, ribbon, and embellishments to good use!

This is what you need:
1)  Notebook
2)  Mod Podge
3)  Decorative Paper
4)  Embellishments
5)  A creative imagination!

Just think how stylin’ your kids will be when they go back-to-school with these jazzy notebooks!

You could even have your kids help you make a bunch and give them as gifts.  They would make a great project to do at a summer slumber party.  No?

I wasn’t happy with my first post about MJ. The people at People.com compiled all of his memorable performances into one area.

The Motown anniversary has to be, hands down, the most memorable performance by
anyone
ever.
