It’s a tear-jerker! It’s about a little boy who gets AIDS from a blood transfusion. The movie doesn’t end well, if you know what I mean. (I should say it doesn’t end well for the little boy’s parents and loved ones. I’m sure it ended fantastically for the little boy.)Anyway, I just couldn’t get this movie out of my head today. I haven’t watched it in about 15 years, but today it just popped into my head. I have been so depressed today because Adrienne is leaving us tomorrow for Georgetown for THREE WEEKS!!!! We are putting her on a plane and off she goes!!!Well, this movie popped into my head and then I had an overwhelming feeling and I had this thought…There are way too many parents out there who will be saying good-bye to their children tomorrow for other reasons…devastating reasons (which you can figure out because I don’t feel like listing them), so I have decided to be happy that Adrienne is leaving! I am thankful that I have a beautiful, healthy, intelligent, amazing, adventurous daughter who has the courage and ambition to undertake a rigorous summer study program. I am thankful that she took it upon herself to find a way to get rides to church in DC every Sunday while she is there. I am thankful that I have been able to teach her things so that she can make good decisions. I am also very thankful that I can experience this mini three-week separation because it will prepare me for two years from now when she leaves for college. What a great experience for us!!!!(Okay…I am going to cry now!)
Here’s a fun mini clipboard gift idea. It’s so fun to make, but even more fun to share! You can clip little love notes or a cute photo on it. You can also attach a magnet to the back, stick it on the fridge, and put a “thought of the day” on it for everyone to see!
You can create the clipboard by recycling a piece of heavy cardboard. You will also need:
1) a corner-rounder
2) decorative paper
3) embellishments
4) clips (from an office supply store)
What to do:
1) Trace a mini clipboard onto a piece of cardboard.
2) Cut out the tracing.
3) Trace the clipboard onto the decorative paper.
4) Have fun gluing and decorating your board!
