Finding Inspiration for Creativity Part II: Perpetual Birthday Calendar

I received this piece of mail awhile ago.  The minute I saw it I knew it would serve as a fantastic template for so many great projects!

The first thing I made was this perpetual birthday calendar folder.  It was so easy!

Here is a look at the inside:

A closer look:

Someone Once Told Me…

“You know you’re
OLD
when you care more about
how you feel
than about
how you look.”
Well, unfortunately, I have to agree!
I had to pass on so many cute shoes at the Bloomies sale this week.
I took one look at the heels and could instantly feel the discomfort in my feet and lower back.
All of the hours and hours of walking in spikes on concrete and marble floors when I modeled
have certainly taken their toll.
I can’t even wear flip-flops anymore.
I came across an ad for these puppies yesterday. I am definitely getting a pair!!!!

They are made by Skechers. In addition to having tons of support, look at all of the other benefits:

(I may even return these; even though they were the bargain of the century, they have NO support whatsoever.)I’m sure these shoes are going to be pricey, but when I add up all of the chiro bills, it will be money well spent. I’ll let you know how it goes.

A Larger Card

I have been wanting to make some cards using a full piece of cardstock.  I think special occasions, like weddings for instance, call for a card that is larger than the usual 4-1/4″ x 5-1/2″.  Here are two photos of my first attempt.  The measurements of this pocket-card are 5-1/2″ x 8-1/2″.

You will notice that I didn’t stamp a sentiment on the inside note card.  I think it is nice to write my own thoughts every now and then!

Bzzzzzz….

Yesterday Erica and I experimented with fondant for the very first time. It wasn’t too terribly difficult. We had a great time! We even added bumble-bees (to hide the boo-boos…shhhh!)
Tomorrow night she is going to lead her Beehive class in decorating a couple more of these cute cakes. Instead of using fondant, she is just going to dye some white icing yellow.

(You can buy the cake pan at Williams-Sonoma; it’s on clearance, of course!)
