Bye, Bye, Birdies

Mommy bird and her babies shared some final snuggles goodbye and some final smiles for the camera before the babies flew off to start their own families. The birds flew away exactly twelve days after they were born. And we humans think our children grow too quickly.

No More Pencils, No More Books, No More…Juice Boxes?

We took a family trip to Costco this morning to buy stuff for back-to-school lunches. I was informed that not only do high school students not carry insulated lunch boxes, they also don’t take juice boxes to school. Buying lunch is not really an option for Adrienne since the entire school has lunch at the same time. The lunch line is impossibly long.

What to do?

Buy bottled water and those little packets of lemonade mix, I was told. In addition to that, freeze another bottle of water the night before so that it is nice and cold for the long, hot, bus ride home.

Now, explain this to me…if it is so uncool to be seen with an insulated lunch box, how is it that the photo below is of the exact lunch box Adrienne chose? Not only does she not have to worry about being seen with a juice box, she can forget the bottled water and any food item that has any substance, because absolutely nothing, except maybe a granola bar, will fit in the thing!!!!!!

I thought I would never say this, but here goes……….TEENAGERS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I was so excited to finally catch a glimpse of Daddy bird today! While mommy bird was snuggling with her babies in the nest, Daddy was navigating for berries.

…………………….OR…………………….

Was Daddy bird in the nest babysitting, while Mommy bird was out running errands? Hmmmm.
