The Problem with The Brownie Sundae

The brownie sundae is my all-time favorite dessert. I make them for myself at home, and I order them whenever I order dessert at a restaurant. The brownie needs to be warm and mushy, the ice cream needs to be vanilla, and the whip cream needs to be plentiful. I can personally do without the cherry and the chocolate syrup really isn’t necessary, but the brownie, ice cream, and whip cream have to be just right.

There is ONE really big problem with this luscious treat, however. Whenever I eat one, I can’t take my time and savour each tantalizing bite. I feel like I am in a race against time. I have to hurry and eat it before the warmth of the brownie causes all of the ice cream to melt.

If we can send a man to the moon (or invent a fabulous story about sending a man to the moon,) can’t we come up with some way to make the ice cream not melt? There has to be a way to deep-freeze the ice cream somehow so that it stays hard and cold.

Does anyone else take time out of their life to worry about this? Is there any solution?

When my kids are eating icecream, then I wish that it wouldn’t melt. My ma had bought some ‘slow-melt’ popcicles when I was there…..those were nice.

Great. Now I am craving a brownie sundae.
