Click here to see a picture from PalmBeachPost.com of Adrienne at the Joe Biden rally in Jupiter. She is on the bottom left on page 8. The back of Chloe’s head is in front, Diego is standing next to her with his head turned, and Alli is on the bottom right (no idea who the lady is next to Diogo with the sun glasses on.) Fun, fun, fun for a bunch of high school kids!!!
Monster Mash Birthday Bash
Today is Erica’s 13th birthday!!!! (Not possible!) She celebrated with a Halloween party. Fun times were had by all!
I made Adrienne’s Cleopatra costume and Erica’s Greek goddess costume:
They had fun sorting through their loot. They pitched the candy they didn’t like and traded with each other for their favorite things. It was adorable! Happy birthday, baby girl!!!!!!
Today Will Be the Day!!!!
Today I will reach the 4,000 mark for visitors to my blog. Thanks for reading, whoever you are!
One of the Best Shows Ever
Rosebud
Okay, I just don’t get it. When I was in college I had to write a six page essay on the lighting in this movie (and it’s in black and white). I actually wrote three whole pages on the scene where he is a young boy playing out in the snow with his sled and he is taken from his parents. I have said many times how much I absolutely love old classic movies, and even old movies that aren’t classics, but when it comes to Citizen Kane, I just don’t get it. (Kind of like Wicked…I just don’t get that either.)
Yes, the lighting in the movie is fantastic and it serves its very own role in the film, but other than that, well, the fact that this movie is considered in some circles to be the best movie ever made.?? Hmmm. Feel free to leave me a comment and explain to me what I am missing because I really do want to know. Please tell me what I am not seeing.
Erica and I watched it tonight. (She has been home sick all week, so bedtime is off.) She thinks people consider it a classic because it is unlike any other film ever made. I thought that was a brilliant observation for an almost-thirteen-year-old. I guess that’s the appeal…there was never nor has there ever been another film like Citizen Kane.
It still doesn’t do much for me. It’s not one that I care to watch over and over again, like Rebecca or any other Alfred Hitchcock movie for that matter. And then, of course, there’s The Godfather. (I almost have the script memorized for Part I. Yes, that is a personal goal of mine…to memorize the script. Okay…I’m weird…but you are all my friends, so what does that make YOU???!!!!)
I’m just saying…
