No Apologies, Just an Explanation

I am totally, completely, 100% addicted to Farmville on Facebook. So what? I don’t care what anyone thinks about my addiction. I admit it…I know it is a complete waste of time. However, it is a HUGE mental release for me. I am online 24/7 for eWillow.com, perusing blogs and marketing the site, etc. So what if I take ten minute breaks every now and then to harvest and plow and plant? People take breaks at work all the time, right? So there, I admit that it is an addiction. It is so highly addictive that I won’t even suggest that you sign up to play and I will never, ever ask you to be my Farmville neighbor.

On a more serious note, I think elementary school classrooms should play Farmville. It is highly educational. You use math skills all the time…you have to constantly add, subtract, and multiply. You learn to save money for the things you want to buy. You learn to help out your neighbors. You learn that by helping your neighbors you get rewarded. It is a fabulous teaching tool.

P.S. Tomorrow is my birthday, and I really, really, REALLY want a Farmville t-shirt.

Baby Girl

Seventeen years ago today I gave birth for the very first time.
Nine pounds. Nine ounces. 22 1/2″ long.
The nurse handed her to me and I put her cheek on my cheek and it was sooooo warm.
My life began at that very moment.

Finding Inspiration for Creativity: Valentine’s Day Card

While we were in Canada last summer I found this really cool card.  I used it as the inspiration for a Valentine’s Day card.  Here is a sneek-peek.  I’ll post the tutorial tomorrow.  It was a little tricky to make, but I am pretty happy with the results.  I still need to think of what type of card to put inside the envelope, since it is an odd size once it is folded.  Any suggestions?

Here is the card I bought in Canada:

…BIRDIE!!!!

Have you ever read this blog that I have listed on my blog roll?

If you do, then you know that Natalie will be taking over the lead role in Bye, Bye, Birdie for a few days.

She was kind enough to let us all in on a way to purchase extremely discounted tickets. (Can you say $10 each?!)

As luck would have it, we’ll be in the city on one of the days that she’ll be performing.

I’m excited that we’ll get to see her and finally meet her.

The girls were excited to find these little ornaments in their stockings on Christmas morning!
