Gift Idea: Apple Watch

Last year, Neily Bear gave me an Apple watch.  I wasn’t expecting it and I love it!  Without fail, as soon as I put down my phone and walk away, it rings.  With my Apple watch, I can answer my phone when I step away from it because it’s right there on my wrist!  I also like that I can grab a glance at text messages and emails just by turning my wrist.  It’s a wonderful gift to give and to receive!

Thanksgiving Turkey Fruit Salad

Thanksgiving Turkey Fruit Salad

I think one of the reasons I don’t enjoy cooking is because it isn’t the right outlet for my creativity.  I don’t like the idea of planning and prepping and cooking only to have the creation eaten and gone.  It doesn’t do anything for me.

When I was asked to bring the fruit salad to Thanksgiving a few years ago, I broke out in hives. Not only do I not cook, I also don’t cut fruit.  What a waste of time!  (Maybe another reason I don’t enjoy cooking and cutting fruit is because of my inability to stand for more than 30 seconds without feeling like I’m going to pass out.) Thirty Years Ago Today: A Proposal

Thirty Years Ago Today…

Neily Bear proposed to me thirty years ago today.  I had just finished a modeling gig at Saks 5th Avenue in Palm Beach.  He picked me up in his gold Buick Regal and as we drove over the north bridge in the heavy Thanksgiving week traffic, I knew what was coming.

I kept saying, “Just hurry up and ask me!”

The rest is history.

Any suggestions on how we can celebrate our 30th wedding anniversary in April?  I mean, nothing is going to ever top the great 20th anniversary of 2007.  Remember?  This happened.

NABLOPOMO: National Blog Posting Month

Comments Off on NABLOPOMO: National Blog Posting Month

NABLOPOMO

National Blog Posting Month, or NABLOPOMO as it is more commonly known to bloggers, is over halfway done.

I have to admit that I’m pretty proud of myself for taking the NABLOPOMO pledge to blog every day during the month of November and for sticking to that pledge.

It’s been easier than I thought.  Maybe that’s because I’ve had so many blog posts composed in my head for a really long time.  I needed an official assignment to finally get the job done.

In addition to blogging every day, I’ve also been making cards upon cards upon cards.  I have one client who asks for the best of the best cards every year and I absolutely LOVE the challenge to come up with different ideas.  It’s what drives me.

I’ve also been busy stocking up on cards to fill eWillow.com orders.  It always seems like I run out of cards and end up in a total panic the week before Christmas.  I want to make sure that I always ship the perfect cards with all of the orders – no bends, nothing crooked, no mishaps of any kind.  Of course that puts a lot of pressure on me, but I don’t expect anything less of myself than to deliver the very best to my customers.

Here is one funny thing that goes on behind-the-scenes in the blogging world.  As I type my blog posts, there is a little thing on the sidebar that shows me if I’m writing my posts correctly.  There are two little checkmarks that change from red to orange to green and back again based on reading, writing, and search engine optimization.  Talk about stress! I’m being graded by a mysterious force with every word I type.  Right now it’s on orange, which means some of my sentences are too long, I haven’t added any pictures yet, and this paragraph has nothing to do with the title of this blog entry.

But darn it, it’s NABLOPOMO and I made a commitment to blog every day! So far, I’ve kept my promise.  So go away little check marks. Even though you’re red, which means this post is a failure when it comes to blogging rules, I’m giving myself an A.

If you have any topics you’d like me to blog about, leave a comment.  I’m open to ideas and I work better under the pressure of having an assignment.
