Make Your Own Embellishment

If you want to add some fancy flashy fluff to your project, you don’t have to spend money on store-bought stuff.  Just make your own embellishment!  Take a look at this perfect card made by my friend Nancy.

Nancy stamped the key with black ink onto silver cardstock.   Then she cut it out and attached it to the gorgeous ribbon on the card.  Nifty, huh?

If you don’t have silver cardstock, you can stamp the key and then emboss it with silver embossing powder.  It’s a fun way to add an embellishment and make your card or project even more beautiful!

My BFF Nancy has the best craft room ever.  Take a look at how she has it organized:

The Desk Space/Wall/Closet

Not only does Nancy have every craft product imaginable, she also has a place for everything…and everything is in it’s place.

The Wall/Murphy Bed/Bookshelf

Take a look at all of her stamps and paper.  Isn’t she the best?  Whenever I visit her, I HAVE to go into her room and look at and touch everything.

Make a Rad Pair of Flip Flops

I always say that I’m not a snob; I’m just not easily impressed.  🙂  When I find something that I really like, I go nuts!  Imagine my excitement when I saw this pair of flips flops!  I’m so happy that the woman wearing them was kind enough to let me photograph them.

Take a closer look!  All you have to do is attach the jeans to the top of the flip flops.

Find a pair of old jeans and buy a pair of flip flops.  Grab your glue-gun and some bling, and get going!!!

Did I Already Tell You About This?

I’m losing my mind.  I have been meaning to blog about this delicious soup mix that we discovered at Costco.  Did I blog about it already?  If so, I have more to add, so read about it again, will ya?  (Plus, be sure to keep reading for a special announcement and favor.)

This soup mix is so delicious and so easy to make.  It tastes like it’s homemade.  And you all know how I feel about homemade things, right?  ;)

I usually add a can of whole kernel corn to the mix.  The corn makes it even more delicious.

Tonight, along with the corn, I added two cans of chopped clams (with the clam juice, too.)  Heaven on earth!  I even made extra so I could eat the leftovers for lunch.  And for breakfast, too.

Go to Costco.  Now!  Buy it!  It’s somewhere between $7 or $8 for the can.  There are delicious recipes on the label.   How does a creamy stuffed baked potato sound?

Leave a comment and let me know what you think.

Speaking of endorsements, have I mentioned that eWillow.com has expanded?  The site now accepts artisans who make handmade anything.  Move over Etsy…eWillow.com is FREE (and it’s not too crowded, either!)

I would love you all so much more than I already do if you would be kind enough to mention eWillow.com’s expansion on your personal blogs.

Just remember to mention that you were paid with love by eWillow.com  🙂

Palm Beach Police Ball

I fell in love with this dress from White House/Black Market the second I saw it.  Four weeks later I went into the store and it was marked down 70%.  I had to do some adjusting to cover up (it’s strapless,) so I was thrilled when I found a jacket that matched.  Sometimes it’s difficult to find matching black polyester (hee-hee!)
The big pink bow was originally attached to the back of the dress.  All it took was a couple of snips and I removed the bow and sewed it onto the back of the jacket.
I was all covered-up, nice and warm.
We used the occasion at Mar-a-Lago to celebrate my birthday, and the occasion at The Breakers to celebrate Neil’s birthday.
I have to admit that I’m very happy that the holiday/birthday season is just about over.  We get slammed from October to February.  Whew!  I need a break.
Oh, yeah!  I forgot to tell you!  Here I am with Melania Trump.
***Don’t get your panties in a wad over my last two posts.  Now that these two balls are over, my life is officially back to being pretty normal***It’s like my friend Debbie said:  I never leave the house, but when I finally do, I do it BIG!
